I know this may sound so corny to all of you with longer locks but I would have never imagined I could do this. The last time I tried this style I was 8 years old, took a long sleeved shirt, put it over my head and tied the sleeves together to make it look like I had long princess-like hair....I hope I explained that correctly...hehe!!! Now I know it can come aloose at anytime but I was just relieved to have my hair out of the way...
So what stages/progressions have you reached and/or look forward to reaching? For instance...
I couldn't wait til:
- I could feel alot of movement in my hair. --> Check
- I could wash my hair without braiding and banding. --> Check
- My hair would not stick out but fall down. --> Check
- My hair would touch my chin. --> Check
- I could put my hair in a ponytail/bun. --> Check
- My hair would touch my shoulders. --> Check
- I could use interesting ways to get my hair out of my face. (I didn't know what other way to describe this one) --> Check
- Seeing less scalp after retightenings. --> Check
I look forward to:
- Doing updos that require very few to no hair pins.
- My hair reaching mid-back.
I can't think of anything else at this time but I know there's so much more I can't wait for!!
1) Romaine Lettuce & Veggies w/ Spiced Chickpeas - Fat Smash Friendly. Spiced Chickpeas have helped with my chips cravings.
2) VCon Chickpea Cutlets w/ mustard sauce, Black Beans & Rice & Fried Plantains - So many vegans have given these Chickpea Cutlets such rave reviews...This is my second time making them and they're just ok..Lando really likes them though....go figure.
3) Portabello, Asparagus & Yuca - YUM!!!
4) Chickpea Tacos - These were soooo good!!!
Have a Wonderful New Year!!!!!!

I can't wait until my hair reaches that point! You're hair looks gorgeous!
Aaah Princess MM, your hair looks great like this!
I am still waiting to be able to get my hair into a ponytail...
I can't wait 'til my hair reaches all of the above. LOL, I've got quite a ways to go but I'm not complaining. :) Amazing how your hair doesn't even need any accessories. See! I'm lovin' it! I love yuca and chickpeas. Yum is right!
Hey I think this style looks great!
I don't think I'm ready for that yet,I do look forward to a couple of things myfelf like the one you mentioned , the hair reaching mid back, just thinking about it sounds crazy, however being that this is the longest my hair has ever been in life, I know it will happen just a matter of when.
You were very creative with the chickpeas! Food looks great!
Wow, what a milestone! My ponytails are kinda bootleg, so I won't count them as an achievement just yet. lol
Did you try the corn fritters? yum yum!
New2Locs, Mel & B> Thanks!!!
Brown> This is the longest my hair has ever been too...isn't it exciting!!!!
Coop> This was what I considered a bootleg ponytail so it's all good!
Haven't tried the fritters yet..but I will post a pic when I do...can't wait!
I'm 1 year and still can't wait to stop braiding and banding. (lol) Can't wait for my locks to lock completely. Can't wait till they reach mid-back. I don't think I want them no longer than that.
Its funny we want our locks down our backs but you know this summer is going to kill us especially being in Floridas heat. (lol)
Yum Yum...guess whose coming to dinner?
omg i can't wait for my hair to not stick out all over the place. i think that's what im looking forward to the most!
I want to reach all of those milestones too, but my first one is more basic. I want my hair in the front to be long enough to wear down instead of back (if that makes sense). My hair in the back has always been longer so I became used to wearing corn rows all the time which (pre sisterlocks) broke off my hair in the front. Its finally starting to grow now so I look forward to that.
Next I would like to feel my hair on my neck. I'm getting close to that one. Food looks great, never thought about chickpea cutlets before. I usually make my own seitan.
Your post made me smile because I had the same couldn't waits! I waiting for my ends to lose the curls and lock and I can't wait til my hair touches my shoulders without pulling them down!
Congrats! I am almost to that point...these pesky layers slow up the progress.
The milestone I am really waiting for is the day that I can pull a lock in front of my face and actually examine it. I would like to see what all the fuss is about. lol.
RMC> After seeing your hair I kind-of knew it would take some time to lock, but once it does....the skies the limit!
I know what you mean about long locks in hot weather... My locks are already hot on my neck so I can't even imagine down my back. Guess I'll be wearing it up all the time...ha!
Au Naturale> I still look at my pics from a year ago when my hair had a mind of it's own...I actually liked the porcupine look. I Love Locks!!!
MD> You will be amazed by the transformation of your locks in a year or two....isn't it exciting??!!
I've made different kinds of bean patties but I hadn't heard of the chickpea cutlets until Veganomicon (the recipe uses vital wheat gluten). I tried making my own Seitan and failed miserably, it's scarred me to the point of not wanting to even look at a box of vital wheat gluten again....
Free> But those curly ends are soooo cute!
Cluizel> LOL!!! Layers aside, your locks are magnificent!!!
I can see my bangs and sides but not my back by pulling them...in due time my friend....
Oh I so you used to try and have fairy tail princess hair growing up. Even though I was a tomboy the one thing I did want that was girlie was longer hair, I would even use my mother's slips on my head lol. I'll take your check list...the one thing I have been checking monthly to see if I could do yet was the smelling of the hair like Lakia lol! Silly me. Happy Reaching your mile stone with locks event...lol that so didn't make sense. Happy New Year!!!
Oh I hear that Portabello mushrooms taste like steak is that true?
This is my first visit to your blog, it is absolutelty amazing...ok I will not assume your a vegan so I will ask are you? The food looks soooo delicious makes me say Yumm,Yumm...it also make me have looooots of ?'s on cooking/ food shopping tips.
My can't wait list is very comparible to yours, the most immediate can't wait is to Color my hair with permanent Color. I am so gray I can't stand not being able to play with permanent color, only a few more months though (when I reach six months) it is on!!! LOL
Secondly, these babies are doing their own thing I can't wait to get length and have more style savvy.
And by the way, yes I agree it's great when your man takes notice of your SL journey.
Much Love Happy New Year
Diva> I remember that post with Lakia smelling her locks....LOL!!!
Portabellos are the meatiest of the mushrooms. I wouldn't say they taste like steaks though...
Happy New Year!!!
Angel> Thanks for stopping by! Yes I am vegan, with the exception of eating honey. Feel free to ask all the questions you like....
I love the color of your hair!!! You sure you want to color it?? I suggest using an all natural dye though...
Happy New Year!!!!
I have reached many of your check points with loose hair. I look forward to doing the same with Sisterlocks also. I love how Sisterlocks give you things to look forward to and most people with locks don't even understand that.
Sophia> So true!
Can you say lock envy? That is me right now. LOL! Seriously, the milestones are what make the journey fun. The food looks great and goodness knows I love some black beans.
Cashana> Thanks! I don't know how you can have lock envy when your hair is so thick and full....not to mention your growth is off the chain!
