For all those loose natural or permed heads out there wondering how much growth can occur in a year with locks....here's proof my friends..! Not to mention, my hair grows slower than the average persons...
Hearty Dishes......
1) Vegetable & Root Soup - Even though I forgot the carrots this soup was excellent. This is a great soup to have when you're sick. Lando didn't have any since it was all veggies...LOL!!! More for me! It also helps on those days I've eaten a crap load of points and still want something else to eat. Since it's all veggies I either count it as zero or one point. From time to time I will post pics of dishes made using recipes from the various cookbooks I own. If you find any of the dishes that don't have recipe links, to your liking, feel free to email me for the recipe.
2) La Dolce Vegan's Green Split Pea Soup & Brown Rice - Split pea soup never sounded appetizing to me before becoming veggie but I decided to give this one a try since I had all of the ingredients on hand. This soup is DIVINE!! Even Lando thought it was good. I added the brown rice thinking the soup wouldn't fill me up by itself, I was so wrong...YUM!!
3) Chili & a Baking Powder Biscuit from La Dolce Vegan - My chili is always amazing! The biscuits were good straight out of the oven, after they cooled down they became hockey pucks..blah...Since I'm not trying to eat 10 biscuits at one time, I won't be making these again.
4) Chana Masala w/ Spinach & Chapati - Lando said this actually tasted like an authentic Indian dish...WOAH! It better since I got it from this website. Another staple can be added to our list. Still need to work on the Chapati though, the texture was better this time around but I didn't get the same bubble effect as in the video...
Enjoy Your Week!!!!

Alaiyo> I can't wait for next year to get here...I never imagined my natural hair would be this long!
Sophia> I would thoroughly enjoy any food pics or recipes you post! Cooking is so much fun!
RMC> I've slipped up a couple times, going on a candy binge, but I haven't done all that bad. I'm a little proud of myself.
Mel> Thanks!! Oooooh! Can't wait for the recipe!
N'Drea> The interview went well, will know sometime next week if I get a position. I'm hoping my agencies will call me to have more interviews. You'd be a great chef! I still remember the food pics you posted some time ago..YUM!
Muslimahlocs> LOL!!! Thanks!
Queenli> Thanks for stopping by! I look forward to your updates and I hope everything is going well.
Wowzer, yeah that's some major growth!I like you suit swag!! I can't ever find form fitting suits, how did the job interview go?
Wow look at the growth
I love comparison shots as I can never see the difference. But the pic proves it.
Good luck with the interview hope you get the outcome you desire
Wow @ your growth. Just beautiful! You are quite the inspiration. And ohhh, I am so comin' to your house for dinner, ma'am.
Ur dishes are looking scrumptious as usual. I'm also loving ur locs, u can def see the difference btw both pics. :)
Diva> Thanks! I purchase suit separates since my top and bottom aren't close in size, this helps a bit. I thought the interview went well but haven't received a call as of yet. Still waiting....
Khandi> Thanks! I don't realize how much growth has occurred until I pull out the old pics and compare..
B> You're more than welcome to come on over. Since we will be moving soon, I'm making a list of everything in our pantry and trying to cook it all. Most of it is beans & grains.
Chinue> Thanks!
LOVE the comparison pics!
Your hair is gotten so long! You wear the free style look so well. I hope your interview went well. I was laid off from my job about two months ago. I had worked there 14 years. I have a test to take next Wednesday for a position with the city. I am kinda nervous. I have not been on an interview in over 14 years! LOL!
Hey Girl
I hope al went well on the interview, they better call you back!
Anyhow your hair looks great, your right comparison shots are the best, they tell the truth!
Take Care
That's a lotta growing in one year!
I had the Dolce Vegan cookbook and took it back. Something about the layout...
But I do have Vegan with a Vengeance. Still haven't tried much though.
Loc envy...Why do you ladies remind me of your existence? LOL
Cluizel> Thanks! I still would love your growth spurt secret.....
Napptown> I don't think I got the position, seeing as how I didn't receive a call back, guess there's still a chance...
I'm so sorry you got laid-off too. The economy is hurting so badly right now it's not even funny. I wish you the best of luck on your test and finding a job quickly.
Good thing about being at a job for a long time is other companies know you are committed and are more likely to stay with them for the long-term.
Brown> Thanks! I still haven't received a call but I know I'll be going on more interviews. Comparison shots tell it all!
Coop> I understand about the layout of the book. For one, the majority of the recipes are from her fans I think, so you're not really purchasing a book of just her recipes. The PPK has cookbook challenges and I decided to join the La Dolce Vegan once since I hadn't really used the cookbook.
As far as VwaV, you should try any cookie recipe, they're all wonderful. I had some issues with the Peanut Butter one being crumbly, but just used it as a topping on ice cream or yogurt. The pizza dough and sauces. There's a lot of good recipes in that book...be sure to let me know what you think when you try some.
Thandi> Someone will be saying the same comment to you soon. I remember looking at all the long locked sistas when I got installed and was so envious. But I'm here to tell you so much growth occurs in two years.
Hey lady - I'm good. Finally got around to posting an update. Please do stop by.
Goodnapps> Just read your update...all I can say is WOW!!!
My goodness! I remember the first picture very well. I can't believe it has been a whole year AND I hadn't realized how much longer your locks had gotten.
I'll bet you love how they're beginning to hang straight and lay down.
Looking good as always and still tempting us with the food.
i hope my hair looks that amazing in 2 years! and those meals look yummy. i need to stop being lazy and make something one day haha. keep 'em comin' i'm bound to make something eventually!
